About Customer: Meet Anna

Anna is the account manager at Wisely, a company providing AI-powered products and services with real-time insights on donor predictions for non-profit fundraisers. Tasked with expanding the reach of the organization and engaging with more clients, Anna built courses on Wisely’s area of expertise – fundraising methodologies and technology for non-profits.

While Anna has extensive experience with client support and operations, she had never built an eLearning course before and was looking for a solution that could help her build impressive courses quickly and easily.

This case study walks through Anna’s journey from novice course creator to power LEAi user and champion.

Problem

Anna wanted to reach a larger pool of people, fundraisers, and nonprofit professionals. She had the idea of giving potential fundraiser and prospect researcher clients free content on all things Wisely knows.

Anna was impressed when she was first presented with LEAi. “I thought it was clever because we love AI at Wisely and use it with our products. I immediately wanted to test the product,” said Anna.

Anna had seen nothing like it before and thought it would be a fantastic product to start using to help her tackle some of the hardest aspects of the course creation process.

After she uploads her existing Word document outline to LEAi, the tool analyzes the content and then delivers suggestions on what she should use for headings, content, and test questions for her course. Since LEAi builds courses using learning best practices, she doesn’t have to think about what order things need to go.

“The flow makes sense. The headings make sense. It gives me questions. I don’t have to figure it out.”

When asked about her favourite features within LEAi, Anna said, “the hardest part of creating a course for me is figuring out what questions to write for the students to test their knowledge. So, I love the question creation feature. I love the recommendations.”

Anna also heavily relies on the LearnAdvisor tool, which gives her recommendations on how to write the content. “I tend to write in passive form, and LEAi always reminds me to change this.” The task-based heading feature is another favourite, as it reminds Anna to start her headings with a verb.

Producing the Courses

Once Anna was happy with the content created by LEAi, the next step was to produce and publish her courses.

When researching Learning Management Systems (LMS), she wanted something that would provide the features she needed but would be easy for every team member to use.  She narrowed her options to Teachable, LearnDash, Podia, Docebo, SkillJar, and Thinkific.

“I went with Thinkific because it isn’t as complex as the others, and I felt their training videos and help section were easy to follow. I was able to teach myself by watching their training videos,” said Anna.

Results and Benefits

Having written, produced and published her first bundle of courses in the Wisely Academy, Anna was able to measure the interest in the company’s courses. “The feedback has been very positive. I shared the first bundle of mid-level giving courses with our contact list, and we had immediate signups.”

Anna is also using the courses as a lead generator. “We just started a marketing campaign using the courses as a lead magnet. We’ve been getting daily signups for the courses. I’m now writing a new series of 6 courses.”

Given the success of the courses as a tool to engage existing contacts and generate new leads, Anna is now charting her next set of courses that she will create using LEAi.

When asked what she would have done if she didn’t have a tool like LEAi at her disposal, this is what she said, “I would’ve struggled.
